DIY Manicure Using Nail Wraps: Jamberry!

Hey guys! So recently I have been trying out different brands of nail shields/nail stickers/wraps.. whatever you want to call them.. And I can say I have found my favorites so far and they are the Jamberry Nail Wraps. These are so awesome, they stay on for so long and there are a bunch of cute designs to choose from!
Most of you may have tried or heard of the wraps that Sally Hansen makes, you can find them at Ulta or any local drug store. For me, the Sally ones did work on my nails but compared to the Jamberry ones they were harder to apply and also once they are opened from their little package, the extras start to dry out and can't be used. This is because the Sally ones are actually made of nail polish so they act accordingly by drying out. The Jamberry wraps are made of vinyl with a heat activated adhesive (shown below) so there is no way that they will dry out and one sheet of them lasts for up to 4 to 5 manicures or pedicures on me.
My mom turned me on to the Jamberries and I can say, when it comes to nail wraps ... I'm not turning back. ~~Check out the tutorial below to see just how to prep your pretty fingers with an easy, at home manicure and how to apply the Jamberry nail wraps properly.~~

Here is what you will need!

~Two Nail Files: Smooth grain and   Medium Rough grain.
~Mini Nail Scissors
~A Hand Scrub
~Wooden Cuticle Pusher
~Rubber Tip Cuticle Pusher
~Cuticle Cream
~Hand Lotion
~Rubbing Alcohol
~A Heat Source: I am using this handy little heater made by Jamberry, but a hair dryer or anything else that emits heat will work just fine (BE CAREFUL to not burn yourself for sake of pretty nails ;)
~Jamberry Nail Wraps: I am using "Lovers Bouquet" and "Purple Pinstripe Solid"

WOOPS..  Forgot to add these into big picture >>>>>

Break out your hand scrub! I'm using Mary Kay's Satin Hands, peach scented hand scrub. This stuff makes my hands feel so smooth and clean and it also smells Amazing! If you don't have this or another hand scrub handy, just use sugar! ;)

1. Scrub those hands until they are soft and clean             4. Buff out ridges
2. Clean any gunk out from under your nail                    5. Shape nails however you please
3. Push back those cuticles                                                6. Rub in your cuticle butter

Get your favorite cuticle cream and hand lotion ready for action!
My all-time, favorite cuticle cream is this one from Lush called Lemony Flutter cuticle butter. This stuff smells just like lemons and makes my cuticles feel and look softer and more polished.

This hand lotion I used is also from Lush and its called HoneyLove. This hand lotion is a Charity Pot so all the money from these goes to a charity to help preserve the honey bees! BZZZZ BZZZZ :)

1&2.) Use a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol (or one of these handy alcohol  pads) and, one hand at a time,  rub all over your nails. This step is VERY  important for insuring longevity of your  nail wraps because it gets rid of any excess oils that are on your nails.
3.) Pick out the wrap that best fits your nail.
4.) Trim just enough of the wrap you want to use to cover your nail. I only use less than half of a whole strip for each nail.
5.) Heat up your nails strip for about 8-10 seconds until you see it start to become pliable.
6.) Position nail wrap onto nail how you want it. (If it isn't perfect the first time then you can carefully peal off and re-position)
7.) Press the nail wrap down firmly, first with your finger, then with your rubber tip pusher. You want to ensure you have no bubbles or creases. Make sure to pay attention to the edges so you get a good seal.
8.) Re-heat and rub for extra seal (Its all about heat and pressure).
9.) Trim off excess
10.) With your rough file, in a vertical motion, buff off the excess by filing straight down. Avoid side to side filing. As you can see in the picture, the nail wrap has been shaved off so that it fits perfectly on edge of nail

TADAAA! Finished product :) Perfect and Pretty manicure and a hot cup of tea... my perfect afternoon
